Just got a 660 ( Q50 V29 IR7) :( I wanna cry when I got my score..

Schools I want to get in:
Oxford MFE
LSE
Imperial
UCL
HKU

Do I still have a chance to get into anyone of the above list ????
For schools that do not require GMAT but recommended (Imperial, UCL and HKU), should I include my score? Will my low verbal score hurt/kill my application?
I have to decide which schools to apply by tmr and let my profs receive the reference form...
Somebody please give me some comments :(

I'd look at non MSc accounting & Finance programs (as in LSE has a bunch of MSF programs with different concentrations and the same recruiting). I don't think the 660 kills you since you have a very high GPA from a known difficult school. Since you are an ESL student I think there will be a level of forgiveness for your low verbal (understandably so).

Thanks MSFHQ,

I am applying the Risk and Finance as my first choice and Finance as my second choice in LSE.
One more question, should I give a shot in Oxford MFE? Is it unreachable for me in my case?

I personally think the more quant finance the program the better shot for you. English is obviously a second language and that is what tanked your GMAT score. Financial engineering programs tend to have a lot of international students and are more forgiving on weaker English skills.

IMO, I would aim for MFE programs or work to improve your English skills and you'll easily push past 700 on the GMAT.

Hi everyone,

I'm a senior, and I expect to complete my BSc Finance Degree next year. I'm looking at applying for top MSF Programs in the US (Such as MIT, Duke, Columbia, Vandy) and Uk (Oxford, LBS -MFA, Imperial. Below is my profile.

1. GPA: 2.9 (I started with lows, scored pretty well in the previous two terms)
2. GRE: Q168, V161
3. GMAT: 730
4. Completed four Guided Projects (All in the field of finance)
5. 3 Internships ( 2 at well know asset managers, 1 in financial journalism)
6. 2 Papers published (1 in the field of Operations Research)
7. Completed various certification courses from Coursera (Including some advanced level courses)
8. I have high-level proficiency at Python and C. I'm planning to do R Programming in the coming month
9. I'm also planning to give FRM Exam in November this year (Planning to give both levels at once)

Extracurriculars:
1. I'm an avid runner. I participate in many marathons.
2. I play classical piano

I would appreciate if someone could evaluate my profile.

Thank You
