Hi,
bergplay,
Thank you for your post!
First, I would like to congratulate you on backing a stellar 740 in your GMAT. That’s quite exceptional, so kudos on that! Coming to your academics, your GPA is ok! Additionally, I would suggest adding a bit more about your overall statistics and giving brief information about any additional courses and certifications and academic accolades, and you will be good on the academic front. Moreover, your IELTS score is good enough as per the benchmark!
About your Work experience, having three years of work experience in a government-owned mining company does strengthen your profile. You have worked on several critical improvement/investment projects, project control, management, and budgeting; hence it won’t be hard to pick out some stellar leadership examples from your tenure to be highlighted in your application. Moreover, you did switch your lines in your tenure; hence, you need to give strong reasons for your decision. For your reference, I suggest you go through our article on
How you can justify your career switch to pursue an MBA! Moreover, you need to give strong reasons to be able to defend why you weren’t promoted during the duration of work. Hence, it would help if you portray your work’s impact on the firm and the revenue generated by your end.
Coming to your ECAs, being a Secretary in the covid 19 task force team while working and coordinating with top management displays your managerial skills. It showcases characteristics of social service and social well-being. Also, it would help if you elaborate on your ECAs; that should help start an interesting conversation between you and AdComs. Furthermore, I suggest you go through our article on
Significance of ECAs for MBA Application, to understand the importance of drafting exemplary ECAs essays!
Overall your profile looks decent! Having a background in the mining industry diversifies your profile. In Round 1, Adcoms look for diversification in the batch that would eventually lead to better chances of acceptance. Also, one of your application’s major highlights is the sponsorship of an MBA by the Indonesian Government; it should be specifically highlighted in your application. However, there are some points where your profile is still a bit brief; hence, to help you further, we would like to know more about your Post MBA goals, both short and long-term, to help align them with the School values and your past experiences. Hence, If you’d like, we are happy to hop on a call with you sometime this week to discuss your profile in length and further chances to your target MBA programs; feel free to
book a free session with us at your convenience.
R1 vs R2: Ideal round to apply alongside GMAT prep!Cheers!
