Dear
MBA Mission,
I would really like someone to help me evaluate my profile for a top 15 program.
I took my GMAT yesterday and ended up with a 730 (Q46 V45) with a 3 IR and likely a 5 or 6 AWA.
Academics: Undergraduate degrees in economics and Information science, magna cum laude in both (3.56 overall GPA), from University of Pittsburgh.
Work experience: Currently a Technology Consulting Sr. Analyst at Accenture working with financial systems and have high reviews from my projects over 2.5 years. Previously, I worked at Alcoa as a Business Applications Analyst for 1 year. In college I was an intern for Alcoa and Federated Investors in their business continuity department.
Leadership/volunteer activities: I often participate in events that help disadvantaged people reenter the workforce and am the local lead for my metro area analyst team (comprises about 100 analysts).
Aim: I would like to attend a top 10-15 program for either a business analytics or general management with a desire to transition to Strategy Consulting after graduation. I feel like the experience a top program will bring will be valuable long term and help develop my skillset for analyzing marketplaces, industries, and business themselves. Will my low IR raise a red flag at schools like NYU, Cornell, Duke, and Darden?
Looking forward to your input and thanks for answering these questions!
