Hi,

Please evaluate my profile.

Age - 28 yrs
Indian
Male

GMAT - 720 (Q 49, V 40)
Bachelor's Degree - Engineering in Mechanical
GPA - 7.8
Work Experience - 6+ years as follows:

1. Currently managing family owned business. (2016-Present)

2. Consultant at Ernst and Young India LLP (2015-16)

3. Engineer at Renault-Nissan Automotive India Pvt Ltd.

Have a bit of volunteering experience with NGOs and not-for-profit organizations.

I aim to do an MBA in Finance from a Canadian/US School. Not looking to be too ambitious. Can you please recommend schools that will be safe and within reach for me?

Thanks,

Hi Sahil,

Thanks for reaching out. In terms of your academics, you've got a pretty solid profile, though I agree that aiming for the very top schools will be challenging. I do think your work experience with the family business will be viewed strongly by admissions and it's a less common pre-MBA field, so you can contribute a more unique perspective to an MBA class.

With your interest in Finance, I would check out schools like: Cornell, Kelley, Foster, Goizueta, Olin, Darden (in the US) and schools like Schulich, McGill, Ivey (in Canada).

Hope this helps!

Hi Kate,

Thanks a lot for your reply!

Would be extremely keen on Cornell, Darden or Schulich.

Is it possible to get a consultation from MBA Mission to get a clearer picture of the application process and my chances of getting into universities that you mentioned.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Thanks,
Sahil
