Job profile: Production Manager in an Oil refinery

Have technical experience regarding oil refinery operation and have experience regarding supply chain system of an oil refinery
Have good managerial experience, supervised technicians, officers , workers etc for a variety of jobs
Strong know how about petroleum operations, refining ,petrochemicals, oil & gas sector, hydrogen generation
Handled multiple projects ranging from set up of new plant to multiple turnarounds

Extra curricular:
Won multiple inter departmental football tournaments
Sports secretary of Officers Club
Organized sports fest for the refinery with 100+ participants
Won many awards in my organization for minor competition

You have a very strong case for the schools you are targeting.

Just focus on consolidating your strengths and putting them forth in a set of compelling essays; besides, ensure portraying a strong sync between your experience and career goals. In addition to this, addressing the need for an MBA at this point in your career will be crucial as well.

Hi adazx,

Nice profile overall! The academic component which includes your BTech and MTech degrees and the more recent GMAT score are strong and prove your ability to handle the academic rigor even though you would be among the more experienced candidates and have not been in study mode for quite some time now.

Regarding your work experience, while you are expected to have expert knowledge about your work, this is a less relevant benefit from an application perspective. B-schools will be more keen on knowing about your leadership skills and the impact you have achieved through your work. This includes leading initiatives, challenging status quo to bring innovation and better ways of doing things, influencing stakeholders for achieving outcomes and improving overall business metrics ( this is a much broader definition of leadership than what you have defined).

Your ECAs are good. All the activities you've mentioned seem to be from your work place. They give you another chance to show team and leadership skills.

Your main task in the application will be to explain why you need an MBA given where you are in your career trajectory and what are your career goals. Do this well, and you should have a solid chance at all your target b-schools.
