Hi mjaininc,
Thanks for writing us with your profile!
Your GMAT score is strong for both Rotman and Said, but the main challenge that I see with your background stems from your undergraduate work at Hult. For very well-established schools like Said and Rotman, Hult is still somewhat of an unknown quantity compared to most undergraduate institutions that other applicants have attended. The timing that you listed above also raises a question around your undergraduate studies -- did you study simultaneously for your LSE diploma along with your BBA from Hult (2012-13)? Were you working part-time at Bloomberg and TISX while also studying part-time at Hult at the same time (2013-16)? Internships are important, but full-time jobs are even more important. You may want to explain in an additional essay how your undergraduate courses were structured and how the overlapping time periods worked, to clear up any confusion and also to help admissions committees (AdComs) understand how you allocated your time during that period.
In terms of your work experience, I'd say you're a very good fit with the Rotman and Said class profiles -- it certainly helps that you have work experience in more than one country, and the type of roles that you've had in consulting and analytics are representative of the skills and knowledge that AdComs look for. I would recommend that you (1) identify a couple of individuals (at least one should be your current supervisor if possible) who will be able to write you glowing letters of recommendation, and (2) collect as many specific anecdotes and examples as you can that demonstrate your leadership potential and soft skills (initiative, team development, communication, etc.). For an applicant like you who comes from a lesser-known undergraduate institution, having the strong endorsement of your recommenders will be a boost. Moreover, the single most important quality that AdComs look for is leadership potential in their MBA students, so the more clearly you can illustrate that, the better.
I hope that helps! Please feel free to reach out to us at
