Hi
KomalSg,
Congratulations on your excellent test scores! (I think your scores are OK even if you don't red-e
It's hard to say about how much your degree might count against you at these schools, but I think you might add context in the optional essay for why they were so low (without making excuses), and how your other degree better indicates success/readiness for their program (because of reasons a and b). Your test scores will help a lot, too! My guess is that MIT will be the school that is the toughest to persuade, but you never know...and Ross and Cornell seem like good choices. Do apply in R1 to these programs, so you have time to expand your list if need be.
One thing I would also advise is probably steering clear of VC--it's a very difficult path to break into, especially if you don't have investment banking or entrepreneurship in your career-- and it tends to raise skepticism with ad coms. Consulting is probably a more reasonable choice, but make sure to explain why you're headed in that direction and it fits you.
Finally, look to highlight your leadership at work and how you've overcome challenges there, and since your organization sounds small, to emphasize any connections to well known clients/investors, etc. if possible.
Warmly,
Julie-Anne
