Hello,

Could you please review my profile and my chances to ISB.

10th - 10.0 (cbse)
12th - 88%
Under Grad- Btech Electronics and communication- 8.02
Work experience: 4 years and 10 months (as of sep 2023)

Worked as Embedded software engineer in Automotive and Medical domains(Tata elxsi, Visteon and IIT Bombay). Currently on career break due to personal reasons.

Extra Curricular:
-Volunteered as teacher at an NGO for 2 years where I taught Maths to underprivileged kids.
- Won competition for Music at state level during school and college.

I'm yet to give my GMAT focus edition and preparing for the same.

Looking forward to admission for PGP(1 year MBA) at ISB, SP jain, IIMs.

­Hi! Your acads are pretty good, but try to breach the 5-year work experience mark (that's required for IIMs). The software engineering background is common in B-schools, but your automotive and medical domain can provide you a bit of an edge. A lot will depend on how clear you are about your goals and how an MBA will help you achieve those goals. You will have to articulate it well in your essays as well as in your interviews. Along with this, you will have to highlight your leaderhip experiences (doesn't mean you need to lead a team, even if you have taken initiatives - it will help big time). Your volunteering experience will also come in handy.
On GMAT front, try to score 655+.

Hi, Can anyone tell me about the IVI course newly launching at ISB. I aspire to become an entrepreneur,but lack proper direction and co-founder. Is it worth investing?

Thanks for writing in.

While your career trajectory appears straight forward and stable, how well you address your career break will be crucial in determining your chances of admission; the articulation of your goals will also be very crucial; as you have not spoken about it in detail, we are unable to comment on the same.

At this point, you must focus on scoring as high as you can on the GMAT and then utilize the remaining time to focus on the essays work. In the absence of a GMAT score, it is tough to comment on your chances; however, making it to SP Jain and the lower IIMs will be slightly more simpler than making it to ISB and IIM A, B, C.

Further, some IIM's may require a minimum work experience of 5 years; kindly ensure that you check your eligibiity.
