Hi All
Request for a
profile review.
Nationality: Indian
Age: 28
Gender: Male
GMAT Score: 710 (Q47,V41) - This was my 5th attempt (Other scores - 660,660,C,590)
Education: Indian School of Business: I was selected for a company sponsored executive management programme. The programme was 80 days long and we covered 24 modules. I ranked first on the programme amongst 40. This was like a crash course in MBA but it is what started my interest in MBA.
London School of Economics: I received direct admission to 2nd Year of BSc Economics. I had extenuating circumstances and I received a degree classification - 2:2 (59.9%).
University of London: This was my first year of university. I received a Diploma in Economics with a First Class and ranked 7th world wide on the examinations.
Work:Big 4, India: I currently work in M&A / Valuations with one of the Big 4 in India. I have worked on some of the largest deals in the country. I have 49 months of experience as of 30/12/16. I have been promoted twice and always receive the highest ranking.
Deutsche Bank, London: I worked in London for 4 months. Primarily worked in Data Analytics.
Extracurricular activities:Since I began working: Rock Climbing and Go/Weiqi.
Prior to working: I participated in several international consulting competitions, held chair roles in societies etc.
Industry after MBA: I hope to continue in investment banking M&A or move into private equity /VC. If this doesn't work out then move into corporate finance within industry or CFIN consulting.
Reasons for pursuing MBA: 1. To learn finance formally.
2. To build a new international network
3. Needed for promotion
4. Enjoy university days again
5. Settle - not - in India / Move abroad
Target Schools: No Idea. I am confused between applying to USA and Canada. USA has more prestigious schools but a terrible visa policy. Canada seems all chilled out but career prospects don't look too good for IBD.
Funding: I have some savings but am largely hoping to receive scholarship to fund my MBA. I am open to applying in R2 2017 or R1 2018.
