Pursuing EMBA for functional and geographical change

Hi, I am a Singaporean with close to 9 years of technical experience (36 YO) in the upstream oil and gas industry working mainly for oil and gas operators including a Super major. My job has given me extensive international experience over 5 countries within the short period of time. I am currently based in the Middle East.
Now I am trying to come back to Singapore but with my niche skillset (Upstream-Subsurface) it is almost impossible to find a job for myself back in Singapore even though I am a local. I believe the EMBA will help in diversifying my skillset and changing function (strategy consulting or management consulting within oil and gas). I would still want to be in the oil and gas sector (my passion) but I would like to switch to the commercial domain to be able to find opportunities back in Singapore.
Now I am having second thoughts on whether it is worth the cost (~140k USD) to do the EMBA as I am currently earning about $170kUSD (tax free). Will I be able to achieve around the same salary in commercial roles such as management consulting or strategy consulting post EMBA in Singapore? Of course the main reason for me to pursue the EMBA is to create for myself more opportunities to come back to Singapore. However, if it is going to result in taking a very large paycut in addition to the huge cost, it may not be such a prudent idea.
All comments, feedback and advice are well appreciated.
Thanks

Kudos
I was on a similar boat being an older candidate with 10 years of experience. I was 31 and making around US$300k in Singapore. I asked a similar question on this forum earlier and after some thoughts and lots of alumni discussions, I decided to take the plunge to do an MBA at INSEAD.
Throughout the process I realized that I started thinking about EMBA/MBA because I don't want to stop where I was professionally. I still have some runway to get to regional leadership role at my firm which will bring my total comp to around $400k + but I wasn't satisfied with just that in both compensation level and aspiration. I was making good money compared to my friends but I didn't feel entirely fulfilled professionally.
When I talked to INSEAD they encouraged me to do the EMBA given my seniority, but I decided to enroll in full-time MBA considering that I am very keen to pause my career and re-orient myself.
In most likelihood I will not be making as much post-MBA. There is no guarantee if I will get a good job after INSEAD but it was worth a try for me.
In the end whether to do an EMBA or MBA is highly personal. Everyone has different reasons for doing it. Many do it believing it will increase their earnings. I am doing mine to re-orient my career and get new perspective for the next 30-40 years of my professional life.
