A good question to start with this hectic week..Shows a good use of "compared to " and "compared with" and also comparison of similar things. I think here "compared with" is more appropriate as "compared to" is used to compare dissimilar items.

Correct use of preposition - compared "with" narrows it down to 2 choices . use correct parallelism to get "E" as answer.

when the subject of the first clause is compared with another thing in the second clause, it is easy to see errors. but if the object of the first clause is compared, we have a chance of ambiguity.
