You may want to stick closer to Official RC passages, or similar articles from The Economist. There are some RC tips on the GMAT Knight blog you might find helpful. One thing that can be helpful for GMAT RC is understanding how INFERENCE questions work on the exam.

Hi Spgmat23.

One thing that could help you is to study Sentence Correction using a comprehensive resource. After all, the more familiar you are with sentence elements and construction, the more effectively you'll decode sentences.

For example, in the sentence you mentioned,

To speak without listening is an exercise
in futility, for no matter how informed or erudite the
views, they are bound to fall on deaf ears.

"To speak without listening" is a nontraditional subject, and the main verb is "is." So, with some work on SC, you may become trained to see that the point of the sentence is that something "is an exercise in futility," and that that something is "to speak without listening."

In general, SC training can help with CR and RC and even with word problems in GMAT Quant.
