1. CEO of a Solar Energy Start-up (2016- present) -
Led company from developing innovative solar thermal collectors from the idea stage to present in 2 countries and partners in 4 countries including Bangladesh, Kenya, and South Africa. My current responsibilities include onboarding new customers and scaling to new markets, leading operations for ongoing projects, and managing projects under pipeline as well as managing old and bringing new strategic partners on board. We have worked with leading multinationals including H&M, TATA, NESTLE, and AB InBev as their sustainability partners and have on-boarded experts from the largest Oil&Gas multinational, BP Energy on our board and got into a strategic partnership with them. My vision from day 1 inclines towards Sustainable Development Goals and we want to contribute towards new and cost-efficient energy technologies and provide equal opportunities to people at the bottom of the pyramid. Until now we have provided opportunities to over 120+ people and about 25% of these have been women.
2. Solar Engineer (July 2015- June 2016)
Designed or coordinated design of photovoltaic (PV) including system components for residential and commercial buildings
Why I am going for MBA?
I believe MBA would accelerate my career and would provide me knowledge, network, and skills to scale up operations for my upcoming endeavors. My short-term vision is to work in the Sustainable Venture Capital sector and be actively involved with Start-up's that are aiming towards decarbonized and digitalized world while for long-term I aim to start a sustainability-focused VC-fund that would will focus on supporting Global companies especially in developing countries that focus on energy-efficiency, digitalization, and decarbonization across the energy spectrum.
I have 2 questions:
1. Should I apply for top schools. My focus is on Harvard, Stanford, and Wharton.
2. Should I also look to HEC Paris and INSEAD? The reason being they are of 1-year compared to 2-year in US schools?
Thank you in advance.
