Question 3:

Tab 3 (experimental groups only)
  • Flashcard Review: 82, 71, 55
  • Silent Re-reading: 68, 50, 28
  • Video Recap: 64, 43, 22
  • Group Discussion: 74, 64, 59

Option A: Silent Re-reading average
(68 + 50 + 28) / 3 = 146 / 3 ≈ 48.7

Option B: Lowest Group Discussion score
Min of (74, 64, 59) = 59

Option C: Range of Flashcard Review
82 – 55 = 27

Option D: Median of Video Recap
Scores (64, 43, 22) → median = 43

Option E: Flashcard Review average
(82 + 71 + 55) / 3 = 208 / 3 ≈ 69.3

Comparison
A = 48.7
B = 59
C = 27
D = 43
E = 69.3

Largest = 69.3. Option E.

Q1

Expected:
1. Immediate - FC>GD>VR>SR
2. 1-Day - FC>GD>SR>VR
3. 1-Week - GD>FC>SR>VR
Actual:
1. Immediate - FC>GD>SR>VR>C
2. 1-Day - FC>GD>SR>VR>C
3. 1-Week - GD>FC>SR>VR>C
So,
1. Immediately after the study session = Not consistent since SR and VR change their places.
2. One day later = Consistent since all matches
3. One week later = Consistent since all matches

Q2

1. All four experimental groups scored at least four times as much as the control group on every test
In each case, Control has the lowest. 2nd lowest for Immediate and 1-Day Later are not 4 times so No.
2. The average decline across the four experimental groups from the immediate test to the one-day test was smaller than the average decline from the one-day test to the one-week test. (this took me some time to calculate but I could not come up with anything better than mental math here)
Sum the four Immediate scores:
82 + 68 + 64 + 74 = 288.
Sum the four 1-Day scores:
71 + 50 + 43 + 64 = 228.
Sum the four 1-Week scores:
55 + 28 + 22 + 59 = 164.
The total decline Immediate to 1-Day = 288 − 228 = 60.
So the average decline = 60 ÷ 4 = 15.
The total decline 1-Day to 1-Week = 228 − 164 = 64.
So the average decline = 64 ÷ 4 = 16. So, Yes.
3. At least one group outperformed another group at the immediate test but scored lower than that same group at the one-week test.
During Immediate, FC>GD. But during 1-Week, GD>FC. So, Yes.

Q3

Calculate the values for each option choice.
A = 48.66
B = 59
C = 27
D = 43
E = 69.33. So, E.

Hi,

Can you please help in resolving this -

In tab 2, the rankings are given for all 5 methods or only for four?

for eg, in one day later, when the stem says video recap is lowest, will this mean FR > GD > SR > Control group > VR

or it will just mean FR > GD > SR > VR

How to essentially infer this part?

it's not given in tab 2 that the rankings are only for the four methods

The predictions in Tab 2 are only about the four study methods, not the control group.

So when Tab 2 says “Video Recap lowest,” it means lowest among the four methods, not lowest including the control group. The control group is ignored for the predicted rankings.

the Q has not explicitly stated this right

The control group is not included in the rankings because Tab 2 only describes the four study methods with follow-up activities.
