Hey

A week back I took my GMAT and got a 710 on the GMAT. My split was Q49/V38 with a 5 on the AWA and an 8 on the IR. Initially I was quite happy but of late I am wondering whether this score would be enough for ISB YLP, Wharton, Harvard etc. Should I retake the exam? Or focus on the applications?

Looking forward to some interesting responses :-D !

Hi abhijay ,

Here are my inputs:

This is what I found for Harvard. http://www.hbs.edu/mba/admissions/appli ... cants.aspx

Average GMAT Score ranges from 610 to 780. Median is 730.

So, your current score is below the median score. You need to have very solid application to compensate this score.

Also, if you are from over represented demographic area (Indian IT Male), then probability of getting selected will become more less.

Hence, either work on improving your score or have a very solid application to compensate your scores and demographic area.

My personal advise: Try to get a score in the range of 740- 750. Your chances of getting selected would increase alot.

Also, you can check the profiles for other b schools and analyse on the similar basis. I am sure Wharton will have more requirement. I am not sure of ISB though.

All the best. :)

Hi
No body can help you until and unless you dont provide your background (undergrad score, experience and etc)
gmatclub usually organize chat sessions with consultant where you can ask such questions. If you have good experience with some multinational, and your undergrad cgpa is good then i think you should focus on ur applications. Try to find out to which pool you belong. If you belong to a pool that is very saturated then you will face a tough competition.
