Hi strawberryjelly,

First off, a 710/Q46 is an outstanding score - and you can comfortably apply to any Business Schools that interest you. As such, a retest might not be necessary. Since you're interested in some highly-competitive Schools, you would likely find it beneficial to speak with an Admissions Expert about your overall profile and application plans. There's a Forum full of those Experts here:

https://gmatclub.com/forum/ask-admissio ... tants-124/

That all having been said, there's no harm in retesting - and you have the opportunity to pick up some significant points in the Quant section. Many Business Schools view an Applicant's Quant Scaled Score as an indicator of how that Applicant might handle the 'academic side' of the Program - and a Q45/Q46 won't impress anyone. Those are the types of Scores that strong 'math thinkers' (re: bankers, engineers, accountants) tend to earn - and they imply that you did fairly well on most of the "math" questions that you saw on Test Day, but you missed out on lots of 'strategy-based' points. This is meant to say that by focusing on Quant Tactics, you'll be better able to increase your GMAT Score AND better impress how Business School Admissions Officers will view your potential to handle the Program.

While the ESR doesn’t provide a lot of information, there are usually a few data points that we can use to define what you should work on to score higher. Once you have the ESR, I'll be happy to analyze it for you.

Hi Rich

Thanks for that - not quite sure how to upload my ESR photos to here as I keep getting an error but you are very right on your strategy point -

In Quant: I got 29% of the first quarter of questions wrong, 43% of the second quarter, 29% in the third quarter and none wrong in the 4th. From reading the forums, there seems to be a strong indication that the first half of questions are extremely determinative, The timings also note that where I got questions wrong, I spent much longer on them - to me that says I wasn't making silly mistakes but more than I struggled with harder questions. Algebra was my weakest area and I know that already but also kept coming up in the first half. I performed as well in PS and I did in DS,
