Interesting! Very few people are taking in person classes in the US search interesting that people still have a preference for a live in classroom instructor.

The US, especially after the pandemic has mostly moved to on demand courses without human interaction. I think it’s more about control and studying when you want and how you want as opposed to having a schedule. Also obviously the labor cost in cost of having an instructor or a tutor a pretty prohibitive in the US. An average tutor will cost you $200 🥴

If you’re asking about their online course, the one with the live virtual classes, don’t consider it.

I took those sessions. They miss out on so many important concepts. Also, they don’t teach you application of the concepts in any way. I gave the official mock after going through ALL of their content and only scored a 640. They ask you to go for shortcuts like skimming the passage, eliminating ‘extreme’ answer choices etc. In quants, they teach you surface level concepts.

As a fellow student who paid to study with them, I would advise strongly against choosing them. They might be great for CAT but their GMAT prep isn’t upto the mark.

(Note that this review is only with regards to their live virtual classes. The instructors might be different if you go to a specific centre.)

Have you considered using an online-self-study course?

Hi gmatpro15,

When it comes to training for the GMAT, there are a variety of different study materials that you might choose to use. From your posting history, it appears that you've been studying for at least 1.5 months, so before I can offer you any additional advice for your studies, it would help if you could provide a bit more information on how you've been studying and your goals:

Studies:
1) How long have you studied so far? How many hours do you typically study each week?
2) What study materials have you used so far? What “brands” of CATs/mocks have you used?
3) On what dates (or approximate dates) did you take EACH of your CATs/mocks and how did you score on EACH (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores for EACH)?

Goals:
4) What is your overall goal score?
5) When are you planning to apply to Business School and what Schools are you planning to apply to?

GMAT assassins aren't born, they're made,
Rich

Hi gmatpro15

While looking for a course there's the obvious factors that one looks for - cost, content and teachers. But I'd recommend that you look for some other factors as well.

1. Look for a course that not only teaches you concepts but also teaches you the application of these concepts. GMAT is a test of application skills and as such this is a crucial factor. A course that teaches you a structured way of solving questions is very important if you want to score 700+.

2. It should provide you with a clear and structured study plan. Your focus should be only on learning and not struggling with what and how to study. Look for a course that provides you with the guidance for the same.

3. It should give you detailed feedback on your performance and show you exactly where you can improve

4. It should offer doubt solving support along with dedicated mentors who guide you throughout your GMAT journey.

As GMAT is an adaptive test, I suggest you to go with an online course as it helps you take adaptive quizzes and provides you all the content on a single platform. The best way to choose an online course is to check out the free trials of the courses out there and then choose the one which suits you the most. You can check out the free trial of GMATWhiz and take a decision. It is a personalized course that comes with an integrated study plan and adapts the content in real-time on basis of your performance.

Don't hesitate to reach out if you need to discuss this in more detail and need help with a strategy to get beyond the 700 mark. I'd be happy to help. You can schedule a call with me using the link below so that I can guide you in a better way.
