Is it very common to get waitlisted without an interview for Round 1 for Ross?

I am an international applicant and am trying to schedule an off-campus interview for Bangalore, India. I haven't heard back from the interviewer yet and the slots are available until 29th October only. Anybody facing a similar problem? Thinking of e-mailing the admissions office. Any suggestions?
