Hi everyone,
I was interviewed by Danielle Spence and she said that the interview will last for 15 minutes, 20 minutes max.
She wanted me to use professional examples only.
Q1. Walk me through your life post-undergraduate?
Q2. Why do you want to do MBA at this point in your career?
Q3. Why Rotman?
Q4. Tell me about a time when you worked in a team and how would you describe your leadership style?
Q5. Tell me about a time when you were confident?
Q6. Tell me about a professional failure and what did you learn from it?
Q7. If you could ask 3 questions to the Rotman chair during a coffee chat, what would you ask?
After these questions, she asked me if I had any questions. I asked her 3 questions.
Overall, my interview lasted for 35 minutes and she said that I will hear back within 2-3 weeks.
Finally, I would like to thank everyone for sharing their interview debriefs here.

Just gave my interview today. The interview was for about 60 mins. We started with a casual conversation and then went over my resume. I was asked the following :
1. Walk me through the highlights of your resume.
2. Why did you choose Rotman?
3. What are the other programs you've applied to?
4. What is your biggest achievement and what was its impact?
5. Out of all the extracurricular activities you've engaged in, which was the most meaningful/ which impacted you the most?
6. How will a foreign environment help you succeed?
7. Tell me about a time wherein a new employee was introduced to your team in the middle of the project. How did you help him integrate with the team?
8. Imagine yourself having coffee with the Dean of Rotman. What are the 3 questions you would ask him?
9. What are your post-MBA goals?
10. What is your biggest failure?
11. Do you have any questions for me?
All in all, it was a good interview. I was also asked a few follow-up questions based on the answers I gave to the previous questions. I was told that the decision would be made within 4 weeks.
Having your narratives in place is beneficial. It helps you organize your flow of thoughts and ideas. Make sure you prepare a couple of questions for the admission committee. All the best!

My interview lasted a little bit over 30 minutes and was very conversational. After every answer, she would affirm or clarify any of my statements (e.g. yes, you will definitely get that from Rotman, etc.)
1. Walk me through your CV
2. Why Rotman?
3. What are your post-MBA goals?
4. What was your biggest accomplishment in your organization?
5. Tell me about a time that you failed.
6. If you were granted a spot in our MBA program, what would you do in 1 week, 1 month, and 1 year?
6. What other MBA programs are you looking into?
7. If you had 3 wishes for Rotman, what would they be?
8. Do you have any questions for me?
I only got to ask one question at the end since a lot of them were already addressed during the follow-up discussions.
Thanks, everyone for sharing your debriefs as well. Truly helpful!

The interview was about 45 mins. We started with a very casual conversation just to know how's the day going for each other and then went over my resume. The questions listed below were the questions that I got asked:
1. What is your short-term and long-term career goal?
2. What was your biggest measurable accomplishment?
3. Share a failure.
4. If you were to accomplish something within 1 week, 1 month and 1 year when you were a student at Rotman, what would you do and how would you do it?
5. Why MBA and why Rotman?
6. How will you contribute to Rotman?
7. 3 wishes if Rotman could grant them to you.
8. Any other schools that you applied?
After the questions he gave me some time to ask him questions. Make sure you prepare 2-3 good questions to impress the admission committee. Good luck everyone!

I had an interview couple of weeks ago. It was pretty straight forward and short (25-30 mins). Questions were same as everyone else.
Like,
1. Career journey pre-MBA in 2 min.
2. Why MBA?
3. Long term and short term goals, and back up plan?
4. A time when I thought I have achieved a target but client was not happy and how did I handle that.
5. A time in my life when I experienced success at my job
6. Why Rotman and how will I contribute to the Rotman community
7. If Rotman could grant you 3 wishes, what would they be?
8. Do you have any questions for me?
Flux of applications to Rotman was apparent from the short and "kind of mechanical" interview. I also had few related small questions based on my profile and answers to the previous questions. I received my decision within 2 weeks of interview.

Timeline:
I applied on the 23rd of September,
Had my Interview on the 6th of October,
Got a feedback on the 15th of October.
My Interview was with Chris Jones over Zoom.
It was pretty calm and conversational. Lasted for about 50 minutes.
I can't remember everything in detail, but the questions were in line with every other debrief posted here.
1) Briefly Run me through your Resume, with more emphasis on your professional career.
2) When/How did you hear about Rotman? Why Rotman? Why Toronto?
3)If Rotman could grant me 3 wishes, what would they be?
4)What I hope to have achieved after 1 week, 1 month, 1 year in Rotman.
5) Post MBA Plans
6)TMAAT you failed
7)TMAA professional achievement you are proud of.
8) Do you have any questions for me?
The 3 Questions I asked him got us chatting for about 15 minutes.
My general advice is to be yourself, and see the interview as a 2-way conversation. They already like what they see in your profile (Duh-uh! that's why you got to the interview stage :) )

I had an interview with Danielle Spence over Skype. She asked me eight questions in total of which I only remember the ones below but all of them were from debriefs I had read earlier on the GMATClub.
1-Explain in two minutes or less your career journey?
2-What are your short and long-term goals?
3-How will you contribute to the MBA program?
4-Why Rotman and why now?
5-In case you don't get into the companies you're targeting what is your Plan-B
6-If Rotman could grant you three wishes what would they be?
She was a great interviewer and helped put me at ease as well. The first question threw me off just a bit since I wasn't expecting the need for brevity and I'm sure I went at least a minute above required but I made sure the overall interview ended in time for me to ask some questions and some chitchat as well. We talked briefly about the program and the surge of applications and the workload she must be facing before finishing the interview. She promised to get back to me within two weeks so I'm expecting a response any day now. She also seemed fairly positive about my chances and told me that getting an interview was a great step.

My interview was conducted by Lynda Vanderburgh and lasted for roughly 20 mins. The questions asked were exactly the same as had reported by the earlier candidates. My responses were no more than 60-90 seconds and Lynda basically made notes the whole time. Her demeanour was warm and welcoming throughout. At the end of the interview, she told me that I should most likely get my result within a week but no more than 2 weeks. True to her word, I received my decision the following Friday.

3)Why Canada and Rotman?
4)Which other schools have you applied to?

6)One conflict situation and how u managed?
7)3 things you expect from your time at Rotman.
8)Questions for me?
4 years ago Nov 19, 2021 01:11
We were both early, so we started early and ended early.
She was friendly.
We started off with a casual discussion about her visit to India and our love for shopping.
She told me to keep my answers short and on point, because follow up questions will give me the opportunity to add detail.
The questions below are not listed in the order they were asked.
1. Career journey after MBA.
2. Why MBA?
3. A time in my life I failed at my job
4. A time in my life when I experienced success at my job
5. How will I contribute to the Rotman community
6. If Rotman could grant you 3 wishes, what would they be?
7. I think she also asked me my long term and short term goals?
8. Was the move back to India due to visa issues in the USA
9. Why Rotman
I think she asked a couple more questions related to why MBA and my career plans but I cant remember exactly.
Make sure to have two or three very solid questions that you are actually interested in knowing about.
Remember that an MBA is an investment and that you both are investing in each other.

Interviewer: Danielle
The interview was standard with the same set of 9-10 questions that have been mentioned on this thread. Having your narratives in place is beneficial. Over all, Her and I vibed well in the end, and had chat about her experiences in India. I felt that rather than the content of the answers, your communication, maturity & energy is gauged.
All the best everyone :)

Lasted ~20mins only. I joined around 15 mins early and so did Danielle! We had some connectivity issues in the beginning and during one answer but rest seemed fine. She started off with introducing herself and told me she had 8 questions. Asked me to be as to the point as possible. She was friendly.
1) Introduce yourself post graduation is less than 2 mins
2) Why Rotman
3)Elaborate on short term goals and long term goals. Back up plan in case STG does not work
4) Which other schools I had applied to
5) How will you contribute positively to Rotman?
6)Situation when you had a measurable impact on your organization?
7)Failure story
8) If Rotman granted you three wishes what would you want them to be?
Post this she gave me the chance to ask her questions.
All the best to everyone!!

This forum was super helpful, so here's me giving back.
My profile:
32 y/o male from Mexico, married. I have a Bechelor's in International Business with GPA around 3.2 and 7 years of work experience (by the time the program starts).
Most of my work experience is working in the intersection of eCommerce, Digital Marketing and Entrepreneurship, and the highlights of my career have been working with some of Latin America's top startups, and as an eCommerce/Marketing consultant for over 50 small businesses.
I took my second attempt at the GMAT like 3 days before I submitted my application and got 660 (Q45,V35)
The overall application process was really smooth, I've been looking into Rotman for a few years and I was already familiar with the interviewer. I had also had a conversation with enrolled students to figure out more about the program and life in Toronto.
I had an invite to the interview around 3 work days after I submitted my application, and I got my acceptance offer almost 2 weeks after that. Roughly the whole process took around 3 weeks and a half, considering that I had my interview one week after I got the invite.
The interview was very friendly, more to know about myself and my CV and it went in a big part as a conversation. These are the questions that I currently remember:
Walk me through your resume in 2-3 minutes
What can you contribute to Rotman and your fellow students
What are your short-mid term goals and how do you think Rotman can help you?
What do you like to do to keep updated in new trends and improving in your line of work
What student clubs would you be interested in joining
If Rotman were to promise you 3 things, what would you like them to be?
Anything that you would like to add?
Do you have any other questions for me?
Basically what they want to know is:
What can you contribute to Rotman and your fellow students
Whether you will be employable after you get the program
What makes you unique?
Hope this is as helpful as all the information was for me.
