from statement (1), if 321th term = -980,
then the following terms are -983,-986,-989,-992 --> which is the 325th term
from statement (2), 325th term = \(a+(n-1)d \)= -20 - 3(324) = -992

Given: Each term of S after the first term is 3 less than the preceding term (1) The 321st term of S is -980
(2) The first term of S is -20
Target question: What is the 325th term of S?
Statement 1: term_321 = -980
Since each term 3 less than the preceding term, we know that:
term_322 = -983
term_323 = -986
term_324 = -989
term_325 = -992
Since we can answer the target question with certainty, statement 1 is SUFFICIENT
Statement 2: term_1 = -20
Since each term 3 less than the preceding term, we know that:
term_2 = -23
term_3 = -26
term_4 = -29

.
As we can see, we COULD keep listing values until we reach term_325 (although we would never waste valuable time doing so on test day)
Since we could answer the target question with certainty, statement 2 is SUFFICIENT
