Sheila works 8 hours per day on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, and 6 hours per day She does not work on Saturday and Sunday. She earns $324 per week. How much does she earn in dollars per hour?

A. 11
B. 10
C. 9
D. 8
E. 7

Let Shiela earn x dollars per hour
So, on Monday, Wednesday and Friday , she earns 8x each
And, on Tuesday and Thursday, she earns 6x each

In total , over the week she should earn, 3(8x) + 2(6x) = 36x
She earns $324 per week
36x =324
x =9

Correct Option : C. 9

So, she works 24 hours in 3 days

Quote:
6 hours per day on Tuesday and Thursday.


So, she works 12 hours in 2 days

So in a week she works 36 hours ( 24 + 12 ) and earns $324

So, Hourly wage is 324/36 => 9

Hence answer will be (C) 9

The total number of hours Sheila works in a week is 8 x 3 + 6 x 2 = 24 + 12 = 36. Thus, her hourly wage is:

324/36 = 9 dollars per hour.

Answer: C

Total number of hours worked in a week = 8*3(mon,wed,fri) + 6*2(tue,thu) + 0*2(sat,sun) = 24+12+0 = 36Hours.
Money earned in a week = $324
So dollar per hour = 324/36 = $9. C

Total number of hours worked by Sheila in the week = 8 * 3 + 6 * 2 = 24 + 12

= 36 hours

Sheila earns earns $324 per week and hence the wage earned every hour =324/36

Now scan the answer choices.

Check out the answer choice that provides the unit digit of 4 when multiplied with 6 (unit digit of 36).

Only option C that is 9 leads us to the right answer.

(option c)

Total hours = 8*3 + 6*2 = 36
Total earning = 324

324/36 = 9

Total working hours = 8*3 (Mon,Wed,Fri) + 6*2(Tue,Thu) = 36
Total earning = 324

So earning per week = Total earning/Total working hours = 324/36 = 9

Ans is C
