Hi Everyone,
Background:
I'm from a country that medical cannabis consumption and cultivation are totally legal, but the cultivation part can be done only by licensed educational institutions.
I have my small startup (do it part time with my friends) that sells greenhouses for organic farming purpose (can be used for any plants e.g. lettuce) then last year I started to sell specialized greenhouses for cannabis cultivation (I already secured few licensed institutional growers). My business is totally legal + my customers have cannabis cultivation licenses granted from gov't .
So my question is......1.) Do US top/Ivy League MBA schools still perceive medical cannabis as 'grey' / 'illegal'? (because on federal level, cannabis is still illegal in the US. As far as I know, out of the top schools, only UCLA publicly supports medical cannabis)
2.) Do you think including my cannabis story in the US MBA application will help differentiate my profile or it will hurt my good-global-citizen image? But personally I truly think medical cannabis is beneficial for both patients and farmers (once the govt grants licenses to individual farmers sometime in the future). I believe it's a game changing crop both on medical and agricultural sides.
Other info about me:
I have 5 year work experience in finance.
Currently I work for an asset management firm (USD10bn+ in AUM) as an equity analyst.
My GMAT is 690
I'm a woman
Thank you very much!
