I have a governmental sponsorship for MBA studies in US. Should I mention about that in my applications?
Although I have this sponsorship, I would like to try my chances to get scholarships from the schools in the first place. Because if I use governmental sponsorship, I need to return to my home country and work for 4 years in a specified institution or else reimburse the loans with a payment plan. Since I want to pursue a career in US post-MBA, I am reluctant to use that scholarship unless I have to.
I am afraid if I mention about this sponsorship, schools wouldn't consider me for scholarships of any kind.
Do you think mentioning about my sponsorship would kill my chance to get a scholarship?

I'm not an expert on this, but if I were in your position with a similar goal, I wouldn't mention about the sponsorship. Once you put that in, you're pretty much out of the scholarship race. So better to skip it. Later you can take a call whether to opt for it or not.
