Hi all,

I recently took the exam.
I scored a 710 q50 v35 IR5 AWA3 .The concern that I have are : Firstly will my low AWA score affect my chances to get admissions and secondly do you suggest to take the exam again.

My target universities are INSEAD, NUS HEC ,ISB

Congrats for crossing 700 +.
AWA scores usually dont effect the admissions
Any how, you can compensate for this on the Essays

Hi ronash,

To start, a 710/Q50 is an outstanding score - and you should certainly apply to any Schools that interest you! You're ultimately asking Admissions questions though, so you would likely find it beneficial to speak with an Admissions Expert about your overall profile. There's a Forum full of them here:

https://gmatclub.com/forum/ask-admission ... tants-124/

If you were applying to US Schools, then your AWA might be an issue. Most US Schools expect applicants to score at least a 4.0 (out of 6.0) on the AWA, but I don't know how any individual School outside of the US would view the AWA Score (or if there would be any 'requirements' regarding that score).

Thanks for the information.

I think it is better for me to proceed with my applications.
The only doubt that I have is that even if I apply to an US school will they reject my application only on basis of AWA score or is there something I can do to counter the low score.

Regards
ronash

I doubt they'll reject your application solely on the basis of your AWA score, but I don't think it'll help you either, especially if you're applying to the top schools. At the end of the day, you're better off asking your schools and/or admissions consultants directly.

Hi

As for as your selected school is concerned your score is pretty good but if you want to apply to top ten US Business school then you should better improve your Verbal Because a rom is available in your verbal and by improving 6 points in Verbal you Can get a 750 score which is 98%tile

Good Luck

Hi Ronash,

A bit of anecdotal evidence, but one of my friends was accepted to INSEAD with a 3 AWA and a similar overall score. The essays are obviously going to be important to communicate an ability to communicate effectively. Best of luck!
