I ask many consultants and they recommend that it is ok if you lie about your achievements even work ex if you have any gaps.
should somebody do it?

We at MBA Decoder don't support lying blatantly in the application- some bit of exaggeration is okay but twisting facts and making up stories is not our style.

Eventually, you'd be the one defending yourself on your stories to the adcom and they are smart people who can see through the lie. I have heard the story of an applicant from a particularly influential alum of a top business school about how the applicant was lying about some swanky extracurricular activity during the interview, and the alum interviewer could see through the lie. The applicant was dinged.

thanks for your advice.

Glad to help Kshitij,

If you have a gap in your professional history, its better to explain- hopefully you have genuine and rational reasons for it

Never lie on your resume, there is always the chance that the lie comes back to bite you in the behind.

Beeing honest will not only safe you from any consequences in that regard latter on, you will sleep much better too. :)

Agreed, that's what most do with their resume as well. However, it's a fine line between packaging and exaggeration.
