Hi everyone,

Was anyone's supplemental material viewed more than once from Adcom? Just out of curiosity.

Mine appears to have been. I had one view on Oct. 5th and one on Oct. 6th, both from someone in Mass. I'm assuming it's MIT's adcoms. It was kind of odd to me that it was on a Saturday and a Sunday though.

I think two people review your application, so I would think that both adcoms review the supplemental material.

Someone from Mass has viewed mine once on Oct. 3rd. If two people review my application, does it mean one person viewed and thought it wasn't worth viewed by another adcom? hope not....OTL

And my video still hasn't been viewed yet. Although, I still question, a bit, the reliability of Youtube's statistics counter.

Oops. Realized I was clicking the wrong thing on youtube for the stats. My video was actually watched on Oct 10 by someone in Mass.

Still no views for mine. I am fairly certain I am clicking on the right links at youtube. Are you looking at the stats from videomanager?

No views from Boston for mine yet either =(
If you are looking at the section which shows the map, and you make sure the date range is selected for "lifetime" rather than "last 7 days" you should be able to see which geographic locations globally (or nationally within the US) have seen it.

Even though it doesn't make much sense, I'm really hoping that they watch all videos even if they ding people. Would be sad to let all that extra work go to a complete waste hehe.

Yep I checked all the date ranges. No views from MA. I am confident that the adcom will view all the materials and I also trust the stats counter of youtube. The only explanation is our applications are at the bottom of the pile. Whatever should happen will happen. I wish I had the mental strength to be ominous to this and concentrate on my R2 apps.

Has anyone's LinkedIn been viewed twice? Mine was, anonymously over a few days. Interesting that they would actually look! :)

Same for me. How do you know it's a Sloan Adcom?

That's right. Video Manager-->View Stats-->Demographics-->United States-->Massachusetts.

According to the stats, mine's only been looked at once.

Did anybody see a definite date as to when Sloan will start to send out invites?

Nope, just from the initial email: "Candidates will be notified of interviews by email from October through December". At least this leads me to believe that they might beat the timing from past years that would put the first notifications at Nov 4.

Just came out from their admissions blog (https://mitsloanadmissions.com/2013/10/2 ... pplicants/):

"So you have submitted your application in Round 1 to the MIT Sloan MBA Program – what comes next? The Admissions Team will begin sending out Round 1 interview invitations this Friday, October 25th and will continue periodically through Friday, November 8th. If you are not invited for an interview, you will receive a final decision from us by November 15th.

In addition to holding R1 interviews here in Cambridge, we will also be meeting applicants for interviews in 13 additional cities across the U.S., Europe, and Asia.

Specific dates and locations are TBD, but interviewees will receive at least one week’s notice of your interview date. If you are not living in one of the interview locations, you’ll be given the choice to meet us in the closest location to you, or you are always welcome to join us here on campus.

Now, some interview tips: all interviews are conducted by members of the MIT Sloan Admissions team – not by students or alumni. There are three components to the interview:

During the first part, you may be asked follow-up questions on your application. For example, your interviewer might ask you to elaborate on a specific story you tell in an essay, or to describe a job that is mentioned on your resume.
In the second part we will ask behavioral questions that will give evidence of certain competencies. Our goal is to really get to know you through your unique stories. An example of the type of question we may ask: “Tell me about a time when you had to build motivation in a colleague?”
Finally, the third part of the interview will give you the opportunity to ask us any questions.

The applicant pool is incredibly strong, and we are really enjoying everyone’s responses to the Optional Question. The Admissions Team is looking forward to meeting people one-on-one for their interviews!"

Good luck to everyone!

Wow. Wasn't expecting them to start this Friday. Hopefully, all of R1 people here will get good news on Friday and not have to wait till the 8th.

I fail to understand why invites are sent out periodically. Is it to prevent overloading the servers?

I don't think MIT has ever said why, so all we can do is speculate. But this is better than last year, when people got interview invitations throughout Nov and even Dec.
