Hi All,
I'm a college senior starting the MBA planning process. I'm planning on leaving to get my MBA 2-3 years after graduation and am taking the GMAT in a couple of months.
My question is basically: I will be graduating with a solid, albeit far from high GPA (3.3-3.4) from a top 15 USNWR university. I'm double majoring and have major GPAs of 3.5 and 3.7, but seriously bombed some elective courses. I'll graduate with 2 Ds and 2 Cs.
I'm wondering if this might affect how I should go about how long I plan to stay at my first job before leaving. Complicating my thought process is the fact that my girlfriend and I are trying to figure out how to navigate living in different areas, as she'll be in medical school.
One of my majors is quantitative and my GMAT score in practice tests is currently in the 730 range, so I'm not particularly worried about scoring 750+ when it counts. However, how will my GPA be weighed against a sometimes spotty transcript? Will the caliber of my school offset these concerns to some extent?
I appreciate any advice and look forward to contributing more to this forum in the future.
