Some theories before solving the question:
- X lives for 100 years <== CORRECT
- X lives for 100 years old <== INCORRECT
- X is 100 years old <== CORRECT
- X lives the age of 100 years <== INCORRECT.
- X lives to be 100 years old <== Absolutely INCORRECT.

Back to the question.

Some varieties of parrots live as long as the age of one hundred years.

(A) as long as the age of one hundred years
Wrong. "live the age of...." in awkward.

(B) as long as one hundred (hundred what?)
Wrong.

(C) as long as one hundred years old
Wrong. Correct use is "live for X years" NOT "live for X years old".

(D) as long as one hundred years
Correct.

(E) to be one hundred years old in age
Wrong. "live to be" is incorrect.
