Sounding cocky in an MBA resume

Hey all!

I've decided to start my MBA resume off with a bang, mentioning how I was promoted quickly to become the youngest manager level employee in a large company.

My wife read that opening line and said it sounds cocky. What do you guys think? I want to impress the adcoms but I don't want to turn them off.

It depends a bit on how it is written but it's definitely something you should include! Or maybe just don't make it your very first bullet? Or soften it a bit?

Maybe move that later in the section after telling them all the amazing things you accomplished? That way it's like, "look, I did all these cool things and, because of that, I'm the youngest manager!" - but definitely don't bury it in the middle. If you have a section for your company involvement, awards, or recognitions, this could have a natural home there as the #1 bullet.

I don't see anything wrong with that bullet. No reason not to use it, either as a first line or top three lines. Don't worry about being too cocky, that would be a nice way to start the resume
