if x<1,1/x>1, -y/x>-y
x-y/x+y>x-y+y>x (but could be still <1)
if x>1, 1/x<1-y/x<-y
x-y/x+y<x

both insufficient.

can't we do some simple equation in this case

X-Y/X+Y>1

so,
X-Y>X+Y
X-X>Y+Y
0>2Y
Y<0

can't we do this in this situation
WHY?

OK. I have seen this question before. In that case we need
(x-y)/(x+y)>1 in the question stem.
