I would say you can start off with Quant as it is easy to get done with it in quick time, whereas with Verbal you will require sometime to hone your skills.
To start off, I would highly recommend TTP for Quant in particular, as I personally used it and it is by far the best I have seen(I have tried out a few other resources too).
For Verbal, there are lot of options out there from which you can choose one that suits you the most in terms of type of teaching - Videos, Lessons, both etc. I personally feel that for Verbal the value lies how much you get out of it.
I did use E-Gmat, but I used it predominantly for SC alone.I coupled it with Manhattan SC.
For CR - I used PowerScore Bible (This is the best for CR).
For RC - Manhattan RC is good.
TTP has recently launched beta version for Verbal, which is good as well. But at the moment it is an evolving material. You could use that for brushing certain concepts. Definitely try that out!
These materials help you solidify with your fundamentals, but I feel the game starts thereon. You need to practice as much as possible. GMATClub has a ton of questions which you can leverage. But be careful, there are lot of not so GMAT like questions out there, and be sure to always use official Questions to practice as possible.

Hi ABCDEFU,

I’m glad you reached out, and I’m happy to help. The good news is that you already have taken a diagnostic, so you see exactly where you stand. Regarding your plan forward, as has been said, TTP would be a perfect option for you. I’m sure you’ve seen on GMAT Club that many students have used us to improve their quant scores, but we recently launched a pre-beta version of our verbal course. As a result, we now have you covered for both sides of the exam, and even in the pre-beta version, the TTP GMAT Verbal Course is a powerful resource. It includes an in-depth examination of CR concepts and strategies and a comprehensive treatment of SC that non-native speakers of English are finding understandable and effective. The bottom line is if you can follow our study plan and complete the course, there is no reason why you can’t hit your GMAT score goal.

We offer a full-access, 5-day trial, so you should give the course a shot. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to me directly.

Good luck!

Hi ABCDEFU,

Many Test Takers are unhappy with their initial practice scores, but you really shouldn't be. That 400 is just a measure of your skills right now - and you'll improve on that result over time as you learn more about the content, Tactics and little 'secrets' of the Exam. That having been said, raising a 400 to the point that you can consistently score 750+ will require at least another 3 months of consistent, guided study - and you'll have to make significant improvements to how you handle both the Quant and Verbal sections. Thankfully, the GMAT is a consistent, predictable Exam, so you CAN train to score at a higher level. As an aside, the 750+ score is approximately the 98th percentile - meaning that 98% of Test Takers never score that high on the Official Exam. Thankfully, NO Business School requires a score that high - so it's important to realize that the score that you "want" and the score that you "need" to get into your first-choice School are probably not the same thing.

Before I can offer you the specific advice that you’re looking for, it would help if you could provide a bit more information on your timeframe and your goals:

1) When are you planning to apply to Business School?
2) What Schools are you planning to apply to?
3) Going forward, how many hours do you think you can consistently study each week?

GMAT assassins aren't born, they're made,

Thank you for your responses guys, what I am thinking is I'll try trails of TTP (For quant) and E-GMAT (For verbal) and then decide. Though these would be quite expensive options.

I am honestly more inclined towards getting the MGMAT bundle, making a timetable with assigning study and review time and doing a lots of practice per topic. Ready to put in more hard work to save more on amount spent here. I feel the ONLY advantage an online course would give me would be some doubt clearing due to the support which I feel even GMAT Club can provide very easily!

For the MGMAT bundle, there is a new consolidated edition (2019 or "7th edition") which think should suffice for me as of now (It also gives harder concepts as ebooks and 6 CAT tests) given I have some other question banks with me.

I'll reply to all you guys on the same thread, hope that is alright!

My main aim to score this high is to achieve a scholarship as MBA's can get VERY expensive.

1) I am planning to apply in the summer of 2021 to be eligible for 2022 intake.

2) Haven't narrowed down to the top 5 preferences but I am looking to settle in Canada and would prefer a top Canadian college or a US college. Although not too keen on studying in the USA. European colleges are also an option especially something like St.Gallen, SDA Italy, or German colleges. But European colleges and Canadian jobs not too sure how that'll work.

3) Don't have a job currently so I can easily put in 25-30 hours a week. (Lesser limit given I take up some freelance work)

@ScottTargetTestPrep
Thank you for reaching out and would take the trail version, although it seems a bit too expensive for me as of now. Nonetheless, would take the trial and decide since don't want to over compromise because of costs too!

@Gokul20
Definitely agree with you since quant is much easier and can be completed but verbal is the main issue I am facing, especially SC.
TTP as mentioned, would be taking the trial to check out the course.

As for the SC, you think foundation of verbal with MGMAT's ALL THE VERBAL should suffice? As opposed to SC with EGMAT AND MGMAT?

I've heard some very good things to about Powerscore CR Bible, and definitely seeing it as a viable option. But again my question is if I am getting MGMAT verbal, does it make sense to separately buy Powerscore CR Bible? Maybe bb can shed some light on this one? :fingers_crossed:

Thanks for the suggestions! OG is a must and would be getting that for sure! Also thanks for sharing this link, will help out a ton!

@Businessconquerer
Woudln't be burning the mock tests, just wanted to take one and see what the GMAT fuss is about and where I stand!

My target score is explained in my reply to EMPOWERgmatRichC

Also my demographic is I am an Indian (would need a high score to stand out) + I am not an engineer. More from a marketing background, worked mostly in Advertising and sales. (4+ years of experience)

Will go through the link shared by you and definitely reach out if need be!

Hi ABCDEFU

It seems like you are just beginning with the preparation. Before we delve into strategies to improve Quant and Verbal, you must

• Set a Target Score
• Make a study plan to reach that target score

Doing this will make your preparation focused on the target which is the most efficient way to study. A study plan would also help you estimate the amount of time you would need to study and thereby when to plan the test.

Looking at your scores, I can say that you need significant improvement in both Verbal and Quant. Majority of students falter in their GMAT exam because they start their preparation by solving questions.

This is a major mistake because if you start your preparation by solving OG questions, you are skipping to practicing questions without learning the concepts. This is a trial-and-error based preparation methodology which cause a two-fold problem:

1. It increases your preparation time by up-to 5X.
2. You tend to miss out on concepts even after solving many questions.

We have helped more than 25,000 people in last 1 year in achieving their target of a good GMAT score. Maximum people attributed their success to the structured process which we suggested them.

I would be happy to build a personalized strategy that will help you crush the GMAT based on your strengths and weaknesses. Please book some time to connect here.

Hope to hear from you soon
