Hi all - looking for some advice here.

Got full scholarship to Stern for both years vs. paying sticker at Tuck. I want to go into corporate strategy post-MBA. Currently live in NYC, and love Stern for all the obvious reasons. But also love the opportunity of taking a break from the city and really focusing on my MBA. I understand that Tuck has one of the strongest consulting placements out there and strategy consulting could be a viable next step post-MBA (a couple of years of that, then switch to something in-house).

Wanted to get some feedback here. Thanks.

I'm in the same boat of either Tuck or Darden with a full ride and am leaning towards Darden. I compared the two schools employment reports and talked to students from each school to get their opinions on my situation. Students from Tuck even told me that Darden would give me nearly identical prospects in the fields that I was looking at and are recommending I avoid that debt. The question you need to ask yourself is whether Tuck is 200k better than Stern in your eyes and whether you truly want to leave the city.

Tuck is a great school, but $130~140K in tuition is about $200~210K in pre-tax income in the state of New York. Let's say you get into one of MBBD in NYC - that's your entire first year salary, annual bonus, plus sign on out the window. While Tuck is a consulting factory, Stern will still give you a fair shot at MBBD and corporate strategy roles.
