What strategy do you use for strengthen CR questions when you come down to 2 options and both of them look very attaractive.

When I get stuck on a 50/50 split on Strengthen questions, I use this quick 3 step tiebreaker:

  1. Re-read the EXACT conclusion: Trap choices usually strengthen the general topic. The correct choice strengthens the author’s precise claim: watch out for specific scope words like net, primary, or long term.
  2. Identify the "Gap-Filler": One choice will just be a nice positive fact about the subject. The correct choice actively bridges the premise to the conclusion or shuts down a competing cause.
  3. Run the Negation Test: I mentally flip both choices to their opposites. Whichever option completely wrecks the author's argument when negated is the winner.
