Hello,
My current GMAT Focus mock scores are averaging around 675, but my target is to reach the 99th percentile (750+).
I’ve decided to extend my prep by another 1 to 1.5 months to make a stronger push toward that target.

I’ve been maintaining an error log throughout my preparation and have been actively using it to identify my mistakes.
However, I feel like I’ve hit a bit of a plateau—my section-wise scores are fairly stable:

  • Quant: Consistently around 85–88
  • Verbal & DI: Hovering in the low 80s
A portion of my lost points is due to silly mistakes and time management issues, particularly in the Verbal and DI sections.

Here’s what I’ve planned for the coming weeks:
  1. Review all error log entries and create a cheat sheet highlighting common traps and key takeaways.
  2. Focused practice on concepts and question types I’ve struggled with repeatedly.
  3. Take one mock test per week. (Would appreciate suggestions for high-quality mocks, especially strong in Verbal and DI, apart from the official ones.)
  4. Use official mocks in the final two weeks leading up to the test.

That said, I’d love your input on whether there’s anything else I should be doing at this stage.
I’m especially looking for a clear and effective strategy to push my score beyond the 750 mark.

Thanks in advance—I’d really appreciate your guidance!

Hi,

Just to clarify - when you said 750+ in the title, you meant 750 in the old GMAT (10th Edition) right?

'Cause in GMAT Focus, 99 percentile is 715.

Sorry ... there was some confusion with the percentile. I mean 750+ in GMAT Focus

I think focused practice is a great idea and something I was going to recommend as well. That said, don't just limit it to your known weak areas. You may have some hidden gaps that only reveal themselves when you practice topics you think you have already mastered. In other words, cast a wide net so you can identify and fix as many holes as possible.
