I appeared for GMAT exam on 31st May,12. Score was 600 ( Q48, V25).
Although I was disheartened with the results , I knew that my verbal concepts and my verbal preparation for the exam was not good. I believed that there was a big scope of improvement in verbal .
Then I decided to reappear for GMAT once again and I enrolled for egmat verbal courses ( Full Course).
Honestly speaking I followed e-gmat and MGMAT study material in SC / CR in detail. I strongly feel that my verbal concepts are clear and strategies are well aligned. I perform OK in my practice sessions of OG and OG Review with 75% accuracy.
This weekend I took my first MGMAT mock test . But Alas! verbal score was 25 with 50% correct in each section ( CR/RC/SC). I was unable to complete last 5 questions due to lack of time.
SO I am performing miserably with poor accuracy and low speed. I am unable to figure out how to improve my verbal score.
Can someone please suggest a strategy that I must follow.
I am targeting a 40 in verbal. Target exam date is 31st October, 12.

I am kinda in the same situation. Gave my GMAT today, scoring 31 in Verbal. I know most of the experts on the forum would suggest the study plan created by bb (forum/study-plan-for-verbal-gmat-98342. html) But, here is the troubling part.
I have done most of the things suggested in the plan. Honestly, I have. I am non-native speaker but a fluent speaker and fairly active reader. The strategies suggested for CR and SC, I have been following them since I started preparing. For the practice part, I practiced Official Guide 13, Verbal OG 2, GMATPrep, Manhattan SC. My score never fell below 75% accuracy in any section of Verbal content I practiced, rather for most of the part, accuracy averaged around 82-83%, a couple of times even touching 90+% accuracy. AND I have done all the questions in OG 13, Verbal OG, GMATPrep properly timed - at max 2 mins per question. I understand its not a Great accuracy, but it no way correlates with a score 31 (59%ile). I am utterly confused. I even gave three MGMATs. Never in any exam have I scored above 34 in Verbal. I just cant understand why I cant replicate the verbal performance while practicing, in an exam.
If it helps in analyzing, I have never had problems in Quant, be it in practice OR Exam.
Some help/suggestions would really help. I don't want to spend big amount on taking coaching.
Please ignore the GMAT kind of grammatical errors in this message (Clearly, I have got no result from correcting sentences in my day to day convo/read, so I did not want to make effort for the same while writing this message)
I'm struggling with same issues folks. Scored a 600 and then 610. I want to drastically improve my verbal. Would you guys like to get together, form a strategy, discuss questions and make study plans. Kindly let me know if this is the case and we can take it from there.
Thanks and Regards, Charu
