Can u please give your suggestions on below ( below is logical reasoning lsat question from Khan academy)

While I was instinctively able to arrive at the right answer (c), I am still unable to critically refute option D.

Logic I am using is that C is the apt conclusion however unable to bring out the well reasoned arguement for denying D

Your suggestion needed - What to do when you face such a situation

Khan academy is kind enought to give this explanation . However , I dont find it convincing ( or I dont understand enough to find it convincing). What can be done in such scenarios?

Here’s my reasoning
There’s this secondary conclusion of sorts that is the last line of the passage: "it is possible to calculate..... Strains of galloping"
This secondary conclusion supports the main idea of the passage of refuting the palaeontologists’ claim

I would say D is just focusing on the secondary/supportive conclusion instead of the main conclusion,

also I cannot read this solution, very unclear and blurry, not sure if it’s just me

Solution by Khan academy*

Same here. Cannot read their solution. It would be nice to see how they distinguish C and D and what makes the difference. However as you saw for OG questions sometimes explanations are very unsatisfactory. Also LSAT often goes too far and deep vs GMAT. While conclusion is a common enough question type on the GMAT, the prompt did not read like a typical GMAT question..

My apologies for the poor image ( It seemed fine when uploading)

I am trying to post the image using cellphone. However size seems to be a constraint ( pop up says can’t upload more than 1 MiB)

I shall hereby send across the solution verbatim

C- the claim of paleontologists that Apatosarus was able to gallop is likely to be incorrect

Explanation - This choice matches our prediction - every other claim in the argument shows to support this claim, in this claim does not, in turn, support anything else

P.S. - Before getting into each option, the solution established logically that the entire para can be summed up to claim that Apatosarus couldn’t gallop.

Option D - you galloping would have broken the legs of Apatosarus, then Apatosarus most probably unable to gallop

Explanation -
This might have been tempting, since it does include the main conclusion that Apatosarus probably couldn’t gallop, but it is phrased conditionally, where aa the argument isn’t structured conditionally

*Option D - if galloping and not you galloping

bb and Gmat Ninja
Your explanations seem convincing to me ( unlike the one given by Khan academy)

Thank you so much for typing it out. I am reading it. 😇

I don’t think I’ve explained anything yet per se 😎

Maybe we should post this question in the CR if we don’t have it yet
