Hi all, I am appearing for the Focus Edition on Feb 2nd (day after). I can say I have given close to 3 months of full-fledged prep and used a couple of sources (in addition to
OG and the GMAT Club forums). My target score is 655 and above (90th percentile and beyond). However, I am struggling to make sense of my mock scores. For anyone who’s kind enough to take out the time - would you mind looking at the score breakdown below and help speculate as to why my verbal and quant scores (and hence, the overall) keep stagnating around 555-575? As for DI, I know DS is a weak area for me, but besides that I’m clueless. PS - the odd 535 and 545 in
Magoosh was a bad, below-average attempt on my part due to stress and lack of sleep. So discounting that a little for now. Any advice/recommendations would be highly appreciated. Thank you so much in advance!
To get a 655+, you need a total of 248 / 270. These 248 can come from any of these 3 subjects. (Ex: Q88, V82, DI78 or Q86, V82, V80)Going by the scores you shared in the image, it looks like you have decent scores in verbal
I would suggest you spend as much time as possible on your Quant. Improving on verbal beyond 82 is really tough, but improving on quant from 79 to 86 is easier : till Q84 it might be easy and then you need to push yourself on certain hard questions to reach 86.
This might improve your ability on DI as well. Try to get all the easy questions right on DI for now. That might take you till 78 consistently. Paralelly start working on DS, you can’t reach your target score without a solid DS.
Cheers!
