I like sunnysood's attitude of never quitting. That's what makes leaders. GMAT score is just a means and nothing else. Don't worry you will get there.

Dear All, I really appreciate your insights and response. Challenge I am facing is, I am project head of one unit, which is due to open my March this year. Meaning, 30-40% effort in job will get me into trouble, rather 150-200% effort is what is expected of me from our corporate house. That leaves me with option of studying late nights, whilst my mind is still wandering about work deadlines. I tried overcoming it, by being more positive and revive killer instincts to be where i want to be. I managed well for few months, but with project closing in, i am mentally and physically getting fatigued. I am from India, where people generally tend to overdo their job roles. with 2-3 hours a day, I know I can never get to that perfect score. I am worrying, panicked you can say . .....waiting for correct guidance and advice.

ok..and which year are u targeting ? 2012 or 2013 ?
I too am from India (and pretty much in the same situation :( )

what i am doing :
I tried cutting the travelling time (I work from home more frequently ) so I save 3 hours travelling time on a day..if i do this twice a week and study for 2 hours in weekdays and hit 6-8 in weekends..I reach my goals..I am happy with my progress...

One of my friends actually changed his shifts from normal workings by moving it 3-4 hours into the afternoon (officially u might have to come up with a very good reason and saying MBA/GMAT is NO NO.. some suggestions sick friend..heavy traffic and so on ).This way u can study with max concentration and also work as much as required..remember its just 3-4 monthis of pain and nothing else..and quitting is not a option..

Also remember sick leaves are you best friend in this time..and do plan out ur pto's..
Take this as ur first challenge and plan accordingly..

Hope that helps :)

Dear Nathandrake, really appreciate your response. I have to get hang of things. I target 2013. But with the Gmat pattern changing I need to ensure that I complete the test before June. That leaves me wt not much time. Sick leaves are no option for me. Working from home neither. As its a site project and my presence is essential. I will rather compromise on current 4-5 hours of sleep to get there. But I will reach there. May be because of corporate house visits lately, with loads of deadlines, I was panicking. But I need to get over with it. But I surely am determined now that I will not quit my job.2 hours each day and sundays about 8-10 hours - does this sound good enough?share your thoughts

You can try it for next 2-3 weeks and we can monitor the progress..

Also rather then the time its the quality of analysis you do on each problem that will make a difference..esp in verbal section..

Dont quit your job. Take 1-2 hours out of your daily routine for your prep. Even studying for 3 months with about 1 or 2 hrs daily would bring good results.

Thank you chaitanyabhansali - I believe I have a consensus now from all of you. No I wont quit my job. Preparing on an average 2-3 hours a day and weekend about 6-8 hours. Catching up. So fair, will try maintain the momentum for next few weeks and then start track progress. But this must be a challenge faced by all applicants.
