Surprisingly, assertive managers are more likely to use collaborative methods more effectively than are managers who use compromise, sharing and searching for solutions that result in satisfaction among conflicting parties.

(A) more effectively than are managers who use compromise, sharing and searching for solutions
'sharing and searching for solutions' modifies compromise..awkward meaning and illogical..hence, incorrect

(B) more effectively than are managers that use compromise, sharing and searching for solutions
'that' is an incorrect relative pronoun; 'who' should be used..hence, incorrect

(C) to greater effect than managers who use compromise, sharing and searching for solutions
incorrect parallelism..'assertive managers' is not parallel to 'managers who use compromise'

(D) to greater effect than are managers that use compromise, both sharing and searching for solutions
'that' is an incorrect relative pronoun; 'who' should be used..Also, there is incorrect parallelism..'assertive managers' is not parallel to 'managers who use compromise'

(E) more effectively than are compromising managers who both share and search for solutions
Correct parallelism..'assertive managers' is parallel to 'compromising managers'...Also, 'who' is an correct relative pronoun to be used..hence. CORRECT option

(E) is the CORRECT option

I looked up the Collins Dictionary, the only meaning of the word compromising is wrong / embarrassing.
Therefore, it is not likely that "a compromising manager" means a manager that is willing to compromise.
Given this, I don't think that E is the correct answer.
Can anyone explain?
