Hey GMAT club members, I am so happy that I found this forum :blushing

I'm now spending a few weeks doing a project in Chiang Mai, Thailand, and i have plenty of free time to study.
I looked up and saw that there are many available spots to take the exam, so was thinking to take it here in two weeks.

But the problem is.. i do not speak Thai almost at all.
And I was wondering - could that be a problem?

I never took the exam before, so not sure how it will be like. Of course the exam itself is in English, but what about the instructions? And are the testers going to talk with us test-takers at all? Will I need to communicate with the tester in any given time ?

Taking it here could be an ideal solution for me ,but I wouldn't want to waste the money and effort and then on the exam day realize that I have any sort of disadvantage due to not speaking the local language.

Please let me know your thoughts, any insight will be appreciated! :please

Thank your very much :)

Not an issue at all. I gave my first GMAT attempt in Bangkok, Thailand :) So don't worry and All the best!

The TA’s will most likely know the local language, but they are also required to know English. Since the GMAT exam is completely in English, the TA’s have to be aware of what’s going on and able to communicate with test takers. The only issue you may run into is the testing center building name or signage directing you to the location as well as interior signs for the bathroom, elevators, etc. will be in the local language. Hope this helps!
