Hi everyone,
I'll try to make my query list as exhaustive as possible:
1. I come from India, with a background in tech. I would also like to continue in tech. This needs two factors at least:
a. I can seek my school connections and alum network to gain safe landing in good opportunities. I would like to move to the bay area and gain exposure there since I would like to eventually come back in under 10 years. Do we connect with organizations which take internationals?
b. I can trade safety over bigger opportunities. That means I would like to fight for more competitive jobs than gain safe landing somewhere I wouldn't be challenged.
2. I would like the college to be as diverse as possible.
3. The culture is warm.
4. Weather can be the last priority.
5. Scholarship. Tepper has offered $20K, McCombs $50K and Marshall $60K. I have asked Tepper, but they haven't responded yet. I should probably move this higher up, since I read in some threads that
bb is suggesting internationals to play safer in funds these days.
Tepper has placed some good people in good places. Even this year's recruitment sounds good so far. McCombs has several tech companies but are most of them budding? Do we really have variety i.e. something other than Dell? For sure Dell is a great organization but more options will be good as well!
This is one area where I have received the most amount of mixed remarks and am the most confused. I am talking to students from each of these places, but you always tend to get polarized for what you choose, isn't it?
I will deeply appreciate all perspectives on this!
