Hey buddy,

what were the usual score splits you saw on your mock tests? Also a large tendency towards quant?

With regards to the verbal section, was a specific area very hard in particular or did the questions cause problems across all categories?

Best regards,
Chris

Hey,

My splits were as follows
700 - q 49 v 36
660 - q 48 v 33
650 - q 46 v 34
680 - q 48 v 35
690 - q 49 v 35

Honestly speaking I didn't find the verbal questions too difficult.
I was shocked when I saw the score split :hurt:

Hi gmat1393,

I'm sorry to hear that Test Day didn't go as well as planned. When these types of score drops occur, the two likely "causes" involve either something that was unrealistic during practice or something that was surprising (or not accounted for) on Test Day. If you can answer a few questions, then we should be able to figure all of this out:

When you took your CATs:
1) What were the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores for EACH of your CATs?
2) Did you take the ENTIRE CAT each time (including the Essay and IR sections)?
3) Did you take them at home?
4) Did you take them at the same time of day as when you took your Official GMAT? What time did you take the Official GMAT?
5) Did you ever do ANYTHING during your CATs that you couldn't do on Test Day (pause the CAT, skip sections, take longer breaks, etc.)?
6) Did you take any of these CATs BEFORE? Had you seen any of the questions BEFORE (re: in an online forum or in a practice set)?

GMAT assassins aren't born, they're made,

Hi Rich,

Please find the below reply:

When you took your CATs:
1) What were the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores for EACH of your CATs?
My splits were as follows
700 - q 49 v 36
660 - q 48 v 33
650 - q 46 v 34
680 - q 48 v 35
690 - q 49 v 35
2) Did you take the ENTIRE CAT each time (including the Essay and IR sections)? I took the Entire mocks but without Essay section
3) Did you take them at home? Yes
4) Did you take them at the same time of day as when you took your Official GMAT? What time did you take the Official GMAT? Actually initially I had planned to take exam on 11 AM Slot so I gave my first 4 mocks at that time but due to unavailability of that particular slot I had take my exam at 1:30 PM slot and I had given my last mock during that time.
5) Did you ever do ANYTHING during your CATs that you couldn't do on Test Day (pause the CAT, skip sections, take longer breaks, etc.)? No, except not taking AWA section everything was same.
6) Did you take any of these CATs BEFORE? Had you seen any of the questions BEFORE (re: in an online forum or in a practice set)?
For the first 4 mocks I had never seen any question before since I was avoiding all the questions with GMAT Exam pack 1,2 during my prep.In the mock I had seen 3 CR's and 1 SC before.
