I was close on this one

Intent: The 19th-century Russian composers known as "The Five"
How they were united ??

A. were united by their holding
They are still not getting united or holding, incorrect tense

B. had as their uniting ideal
No two tasks are happening,incorrect tense

C. united each other with
united/ each other redundant

D. united based on
Best among the rest.

E. were united with
They were not united with a person, rather than an idea -> Out

Shouldn't this be as - The 19th-century Russian composers known as "The Five" were united ....

e,g, I and you, known as best buddies, were united based on our brotherhood - something like this.
