Let the bill be b and insurance paid be i, so we are looking for \(\frac{b-i}{i}*100\)(1) The insurance paid 60 percent of the amount of Craig's dental bill.(1) The insurance paid 60 percent of the amount of Craig's dental bill.
(2) The amount of Craig's dental bill not paid by his insurance plan was $120.
We have the answer straight way. So, insurance = 60, b=100....excess bill as % of insurance = 100*40/60 = 66.67%
If we substitute the values in \(\frac{b-i}{i}*100\) = \(\frac{b-0.6b}{0.6b}*100=\frac{0.4b}{0.6b}*100 = \frac{200}{3}\)=66.67%
