D? or E, but i will stand by D
I could be wrong, but please help me out in my reasoning so i dont repeat the same mistakes again
(A) The investments in the mines in Djboutin make good business sense.
Irrelevant- The point of the passage is that the CEO is corrupt, having a good business sense or bad will not benefit the company but will benefit the CEO regardless, it instead weakens the passage claim
(B) It is cheaper to conduct mining operations in Djboutin than in most other countries that the mining company operates in.
Irrelevant- The assumption that its cheap in Djboutin again weakens the claim, and shows CEO is good light. It does not provide solid base for the passage to stand on.
(C) To conduct mining operations in Djboutin will require heavy investment in a particular type of machinery that will not be of any use in the mining company’s
mines in other countries.
Irrelevant- This is just out of the box option and has no relation
(D) It is not the Board of Directors of the mining company that decides which mines to invest in.
Possible Answer- The assumption is CEO has complete power on the company's operation, which is relevant to the claim of him being corrupt.
(E) There is no unforeseen event in the future that will dissuade the CEO from standing for the Presidency of Djboutin.
Possible Answer (but weak imo)- The passage assumes the actions of CEO will be enough for him to get enough positive light and his investments in the mines will not backfire at all, his decision will ultimately allow him to achieve his goal.
