The company made eco-friendly products, including bags, coolers, and kites from materials like discarded energy bar wrappers and yogurt cups

A. made eco-friendly products, including bags, coolers, and kites from materials like discarded energy bar wrappers and yogurt cups
B. makes eco-friendly products, including bags, coolers, and kites from materials such as discarded energy bar wrappers and yogurt cups
C. makes eco-friendly products, such as bags, coolers, and kites from materials like discarded energy bar wrappers and yogurt cups
D. is making eco-friendly products, like bags, coolers, and kites from materials such as discarded energy bar wrappers and yogurt cups
E. makes eco-friendly products, which include bags, coolers, and kites out of materials like discarded energy bar wrappers and yogurt cups

My first split is Like /such as
Rule: examples always follow such as
eliminate A,C,E

Between B and D again we have a like used to give examples ,this use is incorrect so eliminate D.

B is correct. (however I dont like a comma before "including" )

is this correct way to use " including"

IMO C

the idea is that the company makes products similar to bags, coolers and kites using products like discarded wrappers and cups.
So A,B and E use including and which include, hence not considered.
Between C and D, C as it uses such as and like in the right places.

Like cannot be used to give examples. It (like) can only be used for comparison.

Hi Yashii9

For your doubt
Yes, this is the correct way. "including" acts as a verb+ing modifier and modifies the preceding clause "The company makes eco-friendly products".
Ver+ing modifier without comma modifes preceding noun. Makes sense?

A,C, AND E are automatic eliminations for using "like". D also uses "like" at another location and also uses the present progressive unnecessarily when the simple present would work well.

oh yes..thanks for this

Picked up examples from an article on gmat club-
• Last week local shrimpers held a news conference to take some credit for the resurgence of the rare Kemp's ridley turtle, saying
• that their compliance with laws requiring turtle-excluder devices on shrimp nets is protecting adult sea turtles.

A/C - ̳like‘ cannot be used to give examples, use ̳such as‘ instead

A. made eco-friendly products, including bags, coolers, and kites from materials like discarded energy bar wrappers and yogurt cups
B. makes eco-friendly products, including bags, coolers, and kites from materials such as discarded energy bar wrappers and yogurt cups
C. makes eco-friendly products, such as bags, coolers, and kites from materials like discarded energy bar wrappers and yogurt cups
D. is making eco-friendly products, like bags, coolers, and kites from materials such as discarded energy bar wrappers and yogurt cups
E. makes eco-friendly products, which include bags, coolers, and kites out of materials like discarded energy bar wrappers and yogurt cups

1. It is present simple, not the past, not the present continious ---> A, D are out.
2. There is no comaprison here, so we can not use "like", we just list materials by using "such" ---> A, C, E are out.

That leaves us with B.

I get why A is absolutely wrong (we need to use such as), but when we change made to makes, doesn't that change the meaning of the sentence?
