Hi guys!

I am now onto my last week of studying (ah... the nerves). I have mostly been studying from the official guides, doing free mocks, and marathoning through the question banks, went through videos with EMpower GMAT for general skills, and GMATninja for sentence correction.

Score is currently fluctuating around the 570-620 mark, which should be fine for the university I'm attending.

I was just wondering, what now? Any last minute tips and tricks I should now so that I am in top form during the test day?

In addition, when should I take remaining CATs from GMAC? I recently applied, so have just received the tests from GMAC.
I'm not sure if I should use both of them now, or should I wait in case I completely bomb the GMAT I require further studying?

Any other tips would be very much appreciated!

Thank you all :D

I would recommend not practicing any new questions nor studying new concepts in the week leading upto the exam.

I would recommend the following

1) Finalize the exam taking strategy - How I am going to approach the exam, what am going to do if i get a harder question, how and which questions to skip. You need to prepare your mindset for the exam day. Remember the exam day is not a bed of roses, there are multiple parameters that has the potential to go wrong, so you need to be ready mentally to overcome those challenges on the day,

2) Timing Strategy - By this time , you should have finalized your timing strategy both timing for SC,RC and CR question types and also overall timing as well.

3) Revisit your notes and error log during the early part of the week. Also refer to GMAT Club Flash cards which gives you all important points to refer to before the exam including formula's.

4) Exercise 2 to 3 days , eat healthy food and most importantly sleep well the night before the exam.

Just remember however the exam goes, GMAT is just one step of the process, so don't put pressure on yourself.

All the very best for your exam

HI Niflkier,

Have you taken any practice exams at all? If so, how did you do?

If you have more than 1 (which it appears you do) and it's been a while since your last OM, it might be worth taking another if there is still a week before your exam.

Hi Niflkier,

The process of taking (and reviewing) a CAT requires a significant amount of energy and effort - and takes time to 'recover' from. This is one of the reasons why you typically should not take more than 1 CAT per week - and your last CAT should be taken about 1 week before Test Day. Depending on your exact Test Date, you might be okay to take one more CAT (as long as you take it far enough in advance of Test Day), but you should NOT plan to take any more than that. For practical purposes, if you are already scoring at your Score Goal 'level', then you don't really need to take any more CATs at this point.

In the last few days before your Official GMAT, you should limit your studies to general practice and light review (NO CATs and NO 'cramming') - you would be better served by getting some extra rest so that you can go into Test Day calm, clear-headed and ready to work. It's worth remembering that to earn a Score in the 570 - 620 range, you do NOT need to correctly answer any of the questions that you think are too hard or too weird (meaning that you should not spend too much time on any questions that you think are difficult).

GMAT assassins aren't born, they're made,
