Eliminated a.) because which is a relative pronoun that introduces relative clauses serving as modifiers.
There are two kinds of modifiers: essential, which led by "that", and non-essential, which are led by "which".
In this case "discusses [ing] life among early human tribes" is a necessary to describe the lecture series. The case calls for "that" + clause or switch to the participle - "describing"
