I have checked this issue for our local specifics. The $ 400 delivery through Fedex + 20% of price (customs fee) seem a little bit prohibitive for buying Lenovo ThinkPad outside the states. This dilemma could be solved if somebody flew from the states to Moscow on vacation

For all you Lenovo fans the X61 seems to be the machine of choice. Did any of you look at the 3000 V200? I'm just wondering because it's slightly cheaper than the X61 and it has a widescreen which would be nice for the 12 in screen. It says it starts at 4 lbs so it is slightly heavier than the X61. I'm leaning heavily towards the X61, but someone suggested it so I just wanted to see what people thought.
Also in terms of specs for the X61 would this be good:
Processor: 2 duo (T8300)
Windows XP
Memory: 2 GB 1 DIMM
Hard Drive: 160 GB 7200rpm
Wireless Card: WIFI Link (supporting CentroPro)
2 yr depot
Batteries: unsure. Recommendations?
Battery options are:
-4 cell enhanced
-Exntended life
-8 cell high capacity
*Do I need Intel Turbo memory 1GB? What is that?
Are there any other upgrades etc that you guys think I need.
This comes to about $1500 (incl an extra battery) which isn't great, but not terrible either. I went through work which doesn't give a great discount but better than nothing. Although since my mom offered to buy my laptop I must admit I'm not overly concerned with it's price....

Hi skaballet,
You should be fine with that setup. I don't know the exact clock speed of your CPU, but both ones they offer are good. I would get the 8cell battery, since it'll make the computer last a LONG time without the plug and some people like how it sticks out so they can carry the laptop better. The Turbo Memory does make things faster, but you need Vista to use it (I refuse to use Vista right now), it's up to you if you want to spend the money for a faster bootup and loading some programs.
I would definitely consider bluetooth and fingerprint reader, just for convenience. Not necessary though. Looks good from my end.
