congrats to those who made it this far. to those who didn't i know exactly how that feels as well... everyone gets a good mix of invites and dings... i don't know anyone who got into all the schools they applied to.

moving forward, can anyone share tips on the interview process? what is it like? how long? what are the questions like? is it a blind interview. or is it not? help would be appreciated.

hi pochcc,

u can refer to the earlier posts in this thread... some of R1 applicants shared their interview experiences... and its not a blind interview from what i read...

Got a ding :(

BTW, does "NO international travel" a killer. Although I showed up that being in Indian IT industry I have worked in multinational/multicultural teams spread across the globe.

Can someone from LBS shed light on this. Do you have classmates with no international travel ?

Looking at the amazing profiles of the unlucky ones who got dinged, it just seems like that's all it really says - that they are merely unlucky. It also looks like LBS gives lesser importance to the GMAT and weighs international exposure (perhaps they are building a certain mix) and WE much more.

I personally feel extremely lucky to have gotten to the interview stage and believe this will be the most difficult part of the entire process for me. I know bsd_lover and Dr. Manhattan have taken pains to list out interview feedback here but it would be great to have their inputs on how to best use the next few weeks to prepare well. LBS is my first and only real option - and the process is far from over.

By the way, does anyone notice the following informaiton cited from the email LBS reject us?

"Should I reapply?

This is a decision for you, but you should know that we do specifically invite those candidates we actively wish to reapply when they receive their decision e-mail. You should also note that competition for places is tough each year."

does that mean LBS does not want me to replay? Frustrated!

got dinged yesterday..!

Profile:
27/M/Indian/Work-ex ~ 5years
GMAT 750/ UG 76% from Tier-1 university in India
Work ex: 3+ years in a start-up as a 2nd generation entrepreneur/ 1.5 years in
fortune 100 manufacturing MNC / great career progression / no
international work-ex, but have worked with and lead international teams
Goals: To come back to family business post MBA and expand it
Leadership: Very strong leadership roles/team-building roles/managed large diverse
and cross-functional teams/conflict management
ECs: Average
Had also projected some strong unique points to contribute at the school

Honestly speaking, I'm shocked at the decision. I thought my profile was good enough for at least an interview invite. I have no clue why I was rejected without one! I wish they had given me a reason for the rejection..

any other entrepreneurs in here who have had a similar experience?

congratulations to all those who got the calls :) good luck moving ahead ..

To Greenoak & BSD_lover?

Two Questions

1. I was waitlisted in R1 by London Business School. While the Waitlist letter specifically said not to update the school about any changes in my profile - I am now leading a rather big project at my work place. Should I go ahead and just send an update to the school regarding the same? Sought out the advice of a couple of former students and while one asked me to go ahead and mail the school the other asked me to respect the school's request. I am leaning towards not mailing the school btw.

2. I am actively considering traveling to London (I am based in India btw) and visiting the school - would you advise this and do you think this might make a difference.

I understand it all boils down to what I choose to do but I thought I would seek your opinions and insights first. I am a reapplicant to the school - was rejected in 2007 but was strongly urged to reapply. I had a fabulous interview and the school has been my dream school for over three years!

Thanks in advance for your suggestions and thoughts. Really appreciate it!
